Travelling alone for the first time can be a really daunting experience for most of us, but once you do it, you will catch the travel bug and you wont be able to stop. So here I have put together 5 tips on how to stay safe when your travelling alone.
BEWARE of scammers and pickpockets! Women are more likely to carry handbags, so make sure you wear it across your body and hold it close to your stomach, especially in crowded areas such as marketplaces and main attractions. Scammers will try and offer you all sorts of things, from lottery scratch cards which will “allow” you to win amazing prizes, to which they will tell you to either call a number which will automatically charge you £$ £$ or tell you that you need to put down a deposit to get the prize which you will never receive.
Just stay safe, and be aware of what is happening around you. Don’t walk down dark alleyways at night and don’t take drinks of guys if you weren’t there when they brought it.
If you have been travelling recently then please, let me know, send me your stories or post a video response 🙂 Happy Backpacking everyone!
